Welcome to the course! This introduction and overview will guide you through the basics of anatomy and physiology, helping you understand why specific massage techniques are used and their impact on the body.

No matter how skilled you are at massage, maintaining a clean and sanitized environment is essential to ensure clients keep coming back. In this module, you’ll learn how to properly clean and sanitize your workspace, launder towels and sheets, and keep your area free from bacteria that can cause disease. We will also cover important Occupational Health and Safety regulations to help you maintain a safe and accident-free work environment.

In this module, you’ll learn about the medical and skin conditions that may prevent you from offering massage services, as well as how to maintain accurate records for every massage session you perform.

In this module, you’ll learn the basic massage strokes and the purpose of each one during a session. We’ll also cover the essential technique of draping your client—not only to keep them warm but also to preserve their dignity, ensuring they feel comfortable and secure throughout the entire service.

This module will guide you on setting up a professional yet inviting workspace for your clients, focusing on cleanliness, temperature, soothing music, and other elements that create a complete and enjoyable experience. We’ll also cover the different oils you can use during massage sessions and their specific benefits.

This module marks the beginning of the practical portion of the course. We’ll start by focusing on massage techniques for the back and shoulders, as these areas are a common starting point to help your client become comfortable with your touch.

Next, we’ll move on to leg and foot massage techniques, with the client positioned both prone (face down) and supine (face up).

Stomach and breast massage can offer many benefits, but not every client will want these areas massaged. For clients who do request it, we’ll show you how to safely perform these massages, including proper draping and undraping techniques to ensure only the areas being worked on are uncovered, keeping the client comfortable and at ease. We’ll also cover hand and arm massage techniques to provide a complete, relaxing experience.

To conclude the massage, we’ll work with the client in a face-up position, beginning at the décolletage and progressing to the neck, face, ears, and head, providing a complete and soothing experience.

This module provides several massage routines for you to follow, but remember that each client is unique, and some may prefer treatment for specific areas of the body only. The possibilities are endless—you can customize and tailor any type or length of massage to suit your clients’ needs and preferences.
